Doubting Thomas framed
As well as the prints I did with exaggerated repetition, I wanted to finalize the display of the sculptures themselves. I decided to frame them literally within an old frame, attaching them with wood glue.
In accordance with my Kris Kuksi research, I wanted to create a narrative of sorts, but on various levels. I encorporate do the bronze leaf onto the background in order to create this illusion of a floating layer.
The fingers and the reliquary are all seemingly identical with their golden finish and intricacy. However, only 4 of these 16 were hand sculpted whilst the rest are perfect casts in plaster. This is a comment on the illegitimacy of at least three of these fingers. I wonder how St Thomas could have had 4 right index fingers. This piece had the potential to have quite a humorous description paired with it.
